Al Gietzen, perhaps you can explain what Fred Moreno is
saying here. I think he is low on the heat input to
the oil and water. What does he mean; "without thermal
load"

According to my calcs, his numbers are too high. I worked it a bit
differently; about 28% of the fuel energy goes to output, 18% goes to the
coolant, and about 7% goes into the oil. Depending on the source and the
assumptions these numbers vary just a bit.
100hp is 4250 Btu/min. Divide by .28 says fuel burn is 15,100 Btu/min.
Multiply by .07, and you get 1060 Btu/min into the oil per 100 hp out.
I used a specific heat for oil of 0.6 Btu/#/F, and 7 lbs/gal. Close enough.
Then for a 30F temp change the flow rate is 8.5 Gpm. For delta T of 20F
you'd need about 12.7 gpm.
Al (test mods to oil cooler air inlet ready for flight test, but I haven't
felt well enough to fly- maybe tomorrow).

BTW IMHO you need to fix all the air leaks. Diffusers change velocity
to pressure and they can't do that unless there are no leaks.
