Paul,  Congratulations on the bell housing project. It looks great and is a
good example of what a coordinated effort with some of the talent on this
newsletter can create.

Sign me up for a new remote water pump. Based on the one you sold me I would
agree it needs a easier way to mount it.as well in the mounting manner.

BTW I don't agree with the statement. "People won't spend money unless they
are forced" Perhaps that might have been true ten years ago but I find that
the majority of serious homebuilt aircraft owners will pay more for a
reliable product.  Perhaps this is because of the manner and distance people
are now flying compared to just 'around the patch' flying.  I'm not bad
mouthing  low and slow sight seeing, or burning holes in the sky. That has
always been the most FUN type of flying for me.

The vast majority of rotary adopters so far have been driven by the money.
Otherwise Power Sport would have survived and Mistral would be selling
more parts to homebuilders. IMHO Diamond would also be selling their two
rotor.

It will take more people entering and doing well in cross country air
races to establish the credibility of the rotary. A $1,000 donation
by Mistral or somebody else would double the Everett Hatch Memorial prize
money for any rotary powered aircraft averaging over 220 MPH in the annual
Dayton
to OSH 500 mile air race.  This p-port engined airplane went 205 MPH in the
500 mile race this year and burned only 12 gallons an hour. The pilot told me
he
could have gone 220 MPH if he had known about the prize.

The Everett Hatch Memorial will accept smaller donations as well.

Ok I must be the odd ball who sees making a rotary engine is going to be
more expensive.  I'm not complaining though.  Does this mindset qualify for
being a rotorhead?:)   Say did you happen to notice how the injectors where
mounted on this engine?  I renamed your photo to fit my filing system.

It is hard to tell but it appears they are mounted under the intakes and
shoot straight in.  He has his throttle way out on the ends and I wonder if
you heard how it idled?

I must have missed something.  Did Powersport go out of business?  Where
does one donate for the Hatch award?  And who is the check made out to?

Last time I talked to the owner he claimed Power Sport are not out
of business so you will have to call them to get the status.
