Anybody know where I can get a couple of feet of 6"OD stainless.
Doesn't
have to be in one piece.
Jerry, do you have any left over from when you made Mark's
muffler?

Paul Lamar ...No rotor no motor.
Some over-the-road semis use large diameter stainless for their
exhaust systems. Might want to check w/ some of the truck repair
shops
in Commerce City.

I rolled mine out of .063 321 and then tig welded the seam. If you
use 321 be sure to use 347 ss filler rod. Jerry
Thanks Andy & Jerry. Both good ideas.

Why SS 321? and not Inconel? Of course price is one point. Does 321
shrink little compare to 304?
Doug in Japan
Hi Doug, good questions. At the time I was told that the only SS
that would stand up to rotary heat was 321 provided it was
sufficiently thick walled, thus .063. Inconel would be the
ultimate. I have never worked with it. If the 321 system worked
well, it could be redone in Inconel if it eventually failed. Jerry
