Anybody know where I can get a couple of feet of 6"OD stainless.
Doesn't
have to be in one piece.

Jerry, do you have any left over from when you made Mark's muffler?

Some over-the-road semis use large diameter stainless for their
exhaust systems. Might want to check w/ some of the truck repair shops
in Commerce City.

I rolled mine out of .063 321 and then tig welded the seam.  If  you
use 321 be sure to use 347 ss filler rod.   Jerry

Thanks Andy & Jerry. Both good ideas.

Why SS 321?  and not Inconel?  Of course price is one point.  Does 321
shrink little compare to 304?

Doug in Japan

Doug,
321 is the SS of choice for taking the heat of exhaust and is used in all
the high cost commercial exhausts.
However thicker 304 is suitable, ( although not as good) cheaper and easier
to get.
