I have a 20b now and I wanted to get my tail number and report my engine
(motor) serial number.  Is there a serial number on these engines?  Where
would I find a serial number?  Do I just stamp my own number on it?

Rick Irwin

Hi Rick;
The serial numbers are usually stamped all over the engine - next to the
"20B" on the rotors housings, on top of the irons.
There is supposedly a serial number on the CAS sticker that may be of use.
A stamp on the front iron under the alternator might survive grinding.

If the numbers have been ground off and painted black it is most likely
a factory replacement.

The series numbering is:
000 - 999 = 1st batch
A000-A999= 2nd batch
B000-B999= 3rd batch
C000-C999= 4th batch
D000-D999= 5th batch
E000-E999= 6th batch (Elusive, possible factory replacements?)
