   For a twin tractor/pusher the engines rotating in the same direction,
   relative to the engine, will be rotating in opposite directions relative
   to the airplane!

Fred,

Of course you are right, but inline mounted or tandem engines  (like a
Cessna Skymaster/ Rutan Defiant) aren't the best for every type of
airplane.  What I was thinking, is that if both engines are pushing, or
both are pulling, having one turn the opposite direction would yield
improvements in efficiency and safety.
