   Seems like it would be less work to make a "reversing rotation" PSRU.

   Lot less work yet to build a gear box with a hydraulic prop gov and
   install
   a prop designed to go reverse...... brakes anyone?

The only reason I can see for reversing the rotation is if you were to
have both engines facing the same direction, like the later model P-38s.
They had props rotating in opposite directions to cancel out p-factor.
You could make a rotary rotate in the opposite direction if you were to
make end and middle housings that were mirror images of the stock items.
I think you might also have to make a mirror oil pump, which would be no
big deal if you had the where with all to make the other mirror items.
