Paul,
What do you think of running a Renesis engine for extended periods
between 6000 and 7000 rpm at about 25 inches manifold pressure
(flat-rated setting)?
*Is there a light weight muffler out there that would work in this
operating range? I've looked at some of the baffle/ reflector type
mufflers made for piston engines and I'm not sure they would work with
the rotary because of the overlapped exhaust pulses.*

At that RPM it ought to last forever. The red line is 9000 RPM.
The guys are running them flat out for two hours plus practice
and qualifying for 10 Star Mazda races a year and they last for
three or more years.
You can make a light weight muffler if you make it out of Inconel.
