Same idea different implementation. This is a single cantilevered pin
and not a straddle mounted pin like the Timken implementation.
Most of this is moot as modern NC tools can hold tolerance
to .0005" or less. This may have been real important 30 years ago.
The Ford planet sets (made by Toyota) have proven to be perfectly
adequate
for our needs.

I agree for basically all 2 rotor applications, and light(ish) duty 3 rotor.
Will the Ford planetary gear set hold 1000hp with the input turning
7000RPM and output down around 2000? I'm thinking turbocharged/compound
4 rotor. Needs a big propeller and consequently ~3.5:1 gears.
