Hope they can pull this off. Sportcopter is located near my hanger in
Scappoose and I have see the gyrocopter. Haven't seen it fly yet, though.

-------------------
These are the specs of the Gyro your talking about,
I'm not sure where the Rotomax engine comes in as it specifically states
a Subaru engine.
Fuselage Length: 175" (14.5’)
Cabin Inside Dimensions 49"
Height: 10’
Width: 83"
Rotor Diameter: 30-32’
Engine: 190 hp Subaru (Turbo opt.)
Fuel: 87 Octane Auto Gas
Fuel Consumption: 6-8 gph
Fuel Capacity: 30 gal.
Dry Weight: N/A
Useful Load: 500-600 lbs.
Gross Weight N/A
Could someone elaborate on this please.
Regards David
I don't believe these fuel burn numbers.
Somebody is lying. 190 HP at .45 BSFC is 14 gallons an hour.
If by some miracle they got the BSFC down to .4 BSFC the burn would be 12.6 GPH.
Eight gallons an hour will give you about 108 HP which is about right for a Subaru.
Six gallons an hour will give you about 80 HP.
I just drove a brand new Subaru Forester over in Phoenix and it was a dog on acceleration
and gas mileage. Nothing even close to 190 HP. I was surprised. I guess it is the four wheel
drive that slows it down and sucks the fuel.
