Finally got a test configuration together, Made 3 short 1-3 min runs.
Observations:
1. Engine was smooth at Est.1500 rpm.
2. Coolant flow was robust,Cooling adaquate for continued tests.
3. Psru gets hot to touch, Return oil flow out, No endplay or lash?
4. Exhaust cherry red, paint on muffler burnt,
5. Sounds great, Like strong motorcycle per my Wife.
Concerns/Questions:
1. Edis-4 timing and tach hook-up?
  Does one count the missing tooth on Edis 36-1 wheel as #1 of 9
  for 10 degrees advance? I'm useing 1 coil #1 & #4 to fire the plugs?
2. The oil flow schematic in Mazda maint. manual seems to depict an
  internal rear housing to front housing path that supplies the oil injection pump.
  I attached an oil press gauge to a fitting on the pump block of plate, No oil press!
  Engine E-Shaft lube was determined by the Psru return flow via .050 orface
  on Prop end of the E-shaft.
  Whats best place to monitor E-Shaft oil press?
3. Can anyone identify the source of Psru gears from the photo?

If your exhaust is turning "cherry red," you're burning fuel outside of
the combustion chamber, and risking a meltdown of aluminum components.
This sounds like a timing issue to me, it's retarded enough to still be
burning during the exhaust portion of the cycle.

Not necessarily. Almost all gasoline engines both piston and
rotary run cherry red exhaust at full chat.
