I hope you and your family have had a great Christmas.

My question related to the mounting of the oil and water heat exchangers.
I am keeping with the two front cheeks as inlets, one for each exchanger
with wedge diffusers.

I see two options:

1. Mounting exchangers to engine mount or engine with some vibration
damping.

However I am considering:

2. Mounting exchangers/ducts to the cowl directly
(picture Tracy's RV-8 water exchanger and duct glassed to the cowl rather
than bracketed to engine mount)

Pros
a. Isolated from engine vibration
b. Isolated from engine movement
c. Due to a and b duct sealed directly to lower cowl half of inlet providing
positive seal

Cons
a. Cowl bears load of the exchangers so requires bracing to engine mount
b. Engine can't be run without lower cowl in place

Do you have any thoughts?

Fix it so you can get the cowl off. Best to mount them to the motor
using 1/2 inch tubes with some sort of rubber ends.
