Not even Mazda its all committies so every thing changes we need to
send the guys behind the Rx -9 (backing it )
To the showers Mazda can do better they can do a super car on a buget
and be competitive with every bodies else's  super car and if Mazda
really wants to it can trounce them IMHO I
Figure  it  out a long time a go
Just don't have the time to do it justice (having the worst year ever )   : )
might be able to take a stab at it this weekend though.
Did you see the Article in Automobile Magazine racing beat
built a 300 hp( full  pp ) racing  engine that weights 180 pounds Im
sure this is dry weight not wet though they didn't say this might
make a good aircraft engine . What say you?

That was not Mazda doing that RX9 dwg and article. That was just some guys speculating
for the magazine publicity alone. They know there is a lot of interest in a new 2 seater
RX9.

What month Automobile Magazine? Did Don Sherman write it?

Pretty good historical article. I would be a bit wary of the all aluminum engine
as Jim switched coating companies to a company in Canada that is getting a bad
reputation on the net. They claim the same coating as the Lemans engine but
that is not true. They apply it differently. HOW it is applied makes all
the difference. Mazda used a detonation gun method while the Canadian company
flame or plasma sprays the coating. Historically people have had a lot of trouble
with non detonation coatings. There is no real way to do quality control other than
destructive testing. IMHO It is partially responsible for Wankel Gmbh going
bankrupt. Here are some picture from the RX7 group on the net of failed
ceramic coatings.
