These are television quality files. They look good when you play them
back
from a DVD on a TV or computer.
One is the Daytona podium capture clip where they interviewed the
winning RX8 drivers.
Sylvain Tremblay referred to the rotary as "The engine we all know and
love." :)
I like that.
What program are you using to convert and edit? If it is good I'll get
a copy to
run on XP. Preferably something that does not require activation as I
don't connect
the Windows computer to the Internet for virus reasons.
BTW do you know that format they are using on YouTube? It seems to work
well with all browsers. I know the rez leaves a lot to be desired :)

Well...I've converted your 57 MB file to an AVI file(which is also
pretty standard and can be read by just about any machine...but it's a
tad larger than a windows media file)that is only 17 MB...quality is
just about identical as the original, as far as I can see.
I also converted it to three different compression versions of the WMV
format, one is 8.3 MB, one is 5.26MB and one is 2.64MB. Of course, as
the file size gets smaller, the image is smaller and the resolution gets
poorer. Small file sizes are meant to be shown on small, low resolution
screens. Anyway, have a look at them...I put them all on my website in
one zipped file.
I use several programs...none of them easy to learn. One converts the
NTSC files (like you provided) to an editable file (like the AVI that I
mentioned) where I can then input it into another program that can be
used to compress and resize it. I have a couple...Pinnacle's Studio 9
and Ulead's Video Studio 11. There are advantages to both...Pinnacle's
does a better job of capturing the video with the equipment I have, and
Ulead's is a more capable editor with more options and better results.
They can both convert video files to NTSC, but not the other way
around...hence the need for the third program.

The Pinnacle and Ulead program came with video equipment I have that
captures camcorder and DVD or VHS or Television signals (through the RCA
outlets on them) and saves them as AVI files. Then I can edit them once
they are in a file format the programs recognize. They can be purchased
separately.

BTW this is my favorite Mazda TV add of all time. I am still in
madly in love with this girl 35 years later :) I wish I knew where to find
a higher rez version. OK guys see what you can do with this.
