   I've made one other engine cowl for my plane with the
   wheel. It was for a 14 inch diameter spinner. I
   thought it was a bit heavy, it was made from .063
   6061. Then I figured that I'd need a 16 inch spinner.
   So, I made another station buck and will use .050 6061
   for this cowl. The first cowl was made on a wheel
   owned by a guy down about 50 miles south of me. I just
   bought an english wheel at Harbor Freight, it works
   pretty well, but needs bit of finish work on the
   anvils.

   When I get done with this cowl, I'll consider making
   more cowls if I think this one is up to snuff.

Thanks Brian.  I've been tempted by the HF wheel.  I'll be interested in
what you think of it after getting the cowl done.

I don't know anything about it but my guess is you want to use
something softer than 6061.  I could be way wrong.
