The Windows situation is chaotic.
I have five and ten year old Linux program still working fine on the latest version
of the Linux OS. My wife now uses a Mac and it is hassle free. She says she is so
relieved to be out from under the whole Windows mess. She feels like a weight has been lifted from her shoulders. The Mac is running BSD Unix.

Apparently Vista is every bodies worst night mare. Looks like I am at the
end of the line as far as Microsoft is concerned. I'll run Rhino
as long as I can.


OK the second video now appears to be working. Please check it for me.
I dont know what happened on the first go around. Perhaps I will figure
it out as I have a VTOL video and a HP video to yet to upload.

Yes, when Mac "X" came out it was their second time with unix on a Mac (
OS 10 was real unix) and they got it right. My ex-wife still has the Mac
I bought 9 years ago. It got OS X on it as soon as it came out. This Mac
has been raw on the internet since it came out of the box. No AV since
OS X, never had to reload the OS, and it is just as fast today with MS
Office and surfing the web as it was then I bought it.

Some people wonder why their Windows PC seems to get slower year after
year. They go out and buy a faster machine to solve the problem without
realizing the machine is not getting slower - the number of viruses the
AV has to scan each and every disk I/O, network I/O, memory I/O for has
gone from about 80,000 to 130,000 in the past 2 years. What will it be
next year ?

Yes, get something running Linux ( Mac's BSD version, PC running Linux,
what ever) and you'll not have to worry about AV (as long as you have it
automatically apply security patches)
