Hello EVERYONE,

I am proud to say that I am working in Al Asad, Iraq, (since April, 07)
and I have had the honor and privilege of observing the OSPREY in
action. For the record: I was in Afghanistan in 2004/2005, and Iraq in
2006/2007, and now 2008.

Time magazine wrote a scathing article about the OSPREY, which
ironically appeared for sale in the USMC BX at Al Asad, during the same
time period that the OSPREYS were being deployed into theater. I have
but two words to say to Time magazine: F&&& Y&&. I trust everyone can
extrapolate the meaning of my somewhat hidden discourse?

It is remarkable to look skyward and see the OSPREY in action/in
service. I've seen it land at the combat hospital and scurry about the
horizon shuttling it's passengers to and fro. The *initial* landings
onto Al Asad, were witnessed by yours truly, as I and my coworkers
shuttled to chow during an unforgettable noon time run.

Talking to subcontractors that have been able to ride on the OSPREY
brings about two thumbs up (invariably.) Standing underneath an OSPREY
passing overhead at night (in garrison) is spectacular, as the prop tips
are lit up phosphorescent green, and they project an absolutely awesome
twin ringed light show. I kid you not (the reader) that it reminds
oneself of giant Mickey Mouse ears!

From a distant view, the OSPREY appears at once otherwordly, and then
again, familiar, akin to a WWII PBY amphib. The props are ENORMOUS, no
matter the flight configuration.

Enough of my superlatives; know this: the equipment does what it was
intended to do. PERIOD!

FINALLY: OUR TROOPS ARE ON THOSE BIRDS!!! (Screw those hand wringing
sideline critics with the utmost enmity possible.)

PS I too am building a Zenith CH 801 STOL a/c, so I appreciate the
dialog involving the firewall/line of thrust, etc., and the
use/selection of the rotary engine (20B for me) as the powerplant.
