On a post a week or so ago, someone said that a 13B type engine might have
unusual wear because of the rotors riding on the side seals.  I think that
makes sense.  Would Teflon pads on the lower side of the rotors fix that?
You also said something about oil accumulating in the rotors.  Has anyone
run one of these things for extended periods vertically?

Teflon buttons might help.
Nobody to my knowledge has run a Mazda for long in vertical position.

Sachs made a lawn mower with a vertical mounted one rotor
but that was a charged cooled rotor.

Don't even try it with the standard configuration.  Rotors are oil cooled
and the oil comes out between the pair.  A standard 2 rotor would have one
rotor full of oil and the other empty ruining the balance and overheating
both.  You might be able to use an alternate configuration with all
stationary gears down so the oil could drain from the rotor and then
increase the squirter flow significantly to keep them from overheating, but
I'm guessing it would be easier to go a different route.
