Paul,  I have the evaluation copy of Rhino installed (on my Windows
machine) and am just at the very beginning of trying to understand the
program.  I have downloaded the user's guide and intend to work
through it. Do you normally have several view ports open at the same
time?  Being able to draw in several views at the same time and seeing
how an action affects each view is impressive.   Any tips or
recommendations?  Will you be able to send me Rhino files? I have a
separate e -mail address for that computer which I will forward to you
privately if we need to use it.  I'll try not to bug you too much with
stupid questions.     Jerry

I am not sure what they are calling view ports.

My screen is divided up into four quadrants. Front, right, top, and perspective view.

You draw in the right view as if it were a piece of paper.

You click on the top view and what you see is a line. You extrude
that line and voilą you have a solid. The solid immediately shows
up in the perspective view and the front view. You can rotate it around to
immediately see what it looks. This is what makes Rhino so easy to use compared
to Solid Works. If you can draw in 2D you can use Rhino.
I can draw in Rhino faster than I can in 2D paint or other
2D dwg programs because you don't have to draw all three views.
Rhino does it for you. It has some warts and the worst from my point
of view is it does not do fillets well. I am still using 3... so 4 may have
fixed some of them.
