   Did you see 69 Jeff Segal RX8 at Daytona Rolex 250?  DP #3 Bill Lester
   collided into him.   Tremblay running 1st and Jeff S was 2nd.

   I think it may have been 50 50. Jeff may not have seen him
   and Bill, in the Prototype, should have hit the brakes and let him go.
   Bad place to try and pass, right at the exit of a corner,
   as people normally move on out to the outside.
   Bill should have waited a moment when Jeff could see him
   on the inside rear view mirror and then pass on the outside
   or the inside.

   I also think the Prototype's should be required to have turn signals.

   BTW It is nice to see two competitive RX8's out there.

   For those that did not see the GT race the  Ham/Tremblay 70 RX8 car won.

   Yes, it was a bitter sweet night in Daytona last night.  We were happy
   to get the win...but concerned about Jeff initially and glad when we
   learned he was okay.

   Looking at the incident, it was definitely a racing incident with
   neither driver really knowing the other one was there.  I was concerned,
   however, that the #3 car never lifted...at least visually...before or
   even after he hit Jeff.

   Fortunately, it was a decently soft roll over.  The bodywork was pretty
   beat up...but the car still rolled into the trailer.  The big questions
   will be answered once the car is torn down and on the surface plate
   tomorrow.

   Thanks for all the loyal fans and supporters for watching...we will keep
   chipping away it.

   I arrived back in Chicago this morning from Daytona...and hope we can
   get you to another race before the season is over. Hope you are well...

Paul,
The annoucers said the GT drivers are instructed to try and stay low or
middle coming onto the oval, due to the faster DPs moving up to the
outside, nearer the wall.  Just curious, but try to watch it in slow
motion.  May have been confusion on each of them as to where Jeff and
where Bill was going to go, hi or low, and once committed both were in
the same spot.  Good to hear from John D that at least initially the car
looks like mostly sheet metal.  Hmm, hope so.   Dave D
