Paul, et. al.
I haven’t been the best at communicating lately, despite occasional
requests for information about my Lancair ES/ Mazda 20B. I hope all
will be forgiven with the following YouTube video. At least you will
get a preview of my original southwestern flavored paint scheme/ cabin
interior, and hear the turboed 20B sound levels.
The video was shot by a good friend (EAA 658 Chapter President Dave Roy)
and posted to YouTube a couple days ago. The introduction was hammed up
a little for our EAA Chapter program:

The video was taken on a 93 F degree afternoon. I’ve been idling the
engine at about 1400 rpm with Tracy’s RD-1B (2.17) six-pinion gearbox.
Taxiiing requires about 2000 rpm to get the ES moving. Dave was
standing about 15 feet from the runway edge when he shot the high speed
taxi run. Engine reached about 5,000 rpm and 31 MAP. Coolant (50/50
glycol-water) temperature reached 214 degrees F at shutdown.
I am currently installing a radiator misting system, using a 12 volt RV
water pump which will produce 40-45 psi, to permit operation on hot days.
More later.
