George:
Lancair firewall, mount points and basic engine mount are all standard
Lancair design. Anyone desiring to work alternative engine magic with a
Lancair ES or IV will have to contend with the fact that the engine mount
and nose gear support structure are integral units. You pretty well have
to
begin with the standard engine mount and then adapt it to your particular
installation. Mark Steitle and I each did that, but quite differently.
His
is the better design.
The only alternative would be to design your own one-off nose gear support
structure. The only person I've heard of (an A & P) who tried to do that
(for a Chevy LS-1 installation) gave up a long time ago.
Tom
I did one Tom. Jerry Hey built the mount.
You are right. It is not easy. I think Jerry will agree it is
the most difficult mount he ever made.

Tom,
Thanks, I just want to compare it to another plane with similar overall
dimensions and I am curious as to the differences between the two.
Paul do you or Jerry have the Lancair firewall dimensions/ drawings?
George (down under)
Not for the ES.
