   How do I get rid of the little boxes around sections
   of text?

If it is a text box copy the text and delete the box then paste the
text. If you need the text box but do not want the line highlight it
left click go to properties and make the border NONE. If I saw what you
were talking about it would help.  Dan


Cut and pasting works. It is very tedious however as I have 15 pages of fine type to process
and each sentence is in  a text box. Thanks Dan

I think I am going to scan in 30 column's and convert then to plain text.
