Paul:  I have been researching the rotary for several months now, and
following your discussion more recently.  There are so many great
reasons to fly the rotary - many of them more subtle than at first
look.  As of now, I am a little confused about the philosophy of the
different oil delivery concepts.  Dis-able the factory injection and mix
oil into the fuel?  Like Rotamax who injects it through the e-shaft and
then throughout.  Or, external cooler and closed loop system?  Maybe you
can shed some light on this subject - differences, advantages,
dis-advantages, etc.
Thanks.

There are two oil systems in the rotary. There is a conventional "crankcase" system that pressure feeds the bearings and then an apex seal lube system. Only the apex seal lube system is disabled and 2 cyclei oil mixed with the fuel.
One oz per gallon is all you need. That is the best as 2 cycle oil unlike "crankcase" oil burns cleanly. Another possibility is use an external tank for the 2 cycle oil and use the apex seal metering system to draw 2 cycle from that tank.
