Paul,
One other question. On the conversion coating chemicals I brought to
Japan, the first bottle directions are difficult to read. I believe it
says to dilute the acid one-to-one with distilled water and that is what
I did. The conversion coating also should be dilute I believe but it
didn't seem to produce any color change as I expected. The aluminum
remained bright. The Devcon expoxy mixed 9-1 by weight and applied 30
minutes after the conversion coat was dry and then heat cured turned out
to be fantastic. Much harder and stronger than JB Weld but I never heat
cured JB Weld. I think the heat cure was the trick as it is with most
high strength fiberglass parts. Totally happy with the results so
far. Next Thursday I will machine it and insert the fuel injectors for
a photo-op.
Thanks
Doug
I don't know. My kit is up at the hangar. No color change is normal.
The book won't fit. Easier to mail that separately.
Try the epoxy bond to aluminum without the treatment.
Now here is a real modern pump. Volvo truck. Note the insensitivity to back
pressure. This was developed in 1999. Not 1930 like the BMW pump:)
