Hey All,

    Does anyone have access to SolidWorks 2009? They have an built in
    equation function that will finally let them do involute curves and
    specifically for us Trochoid curves and not the cheater splines through
    points method.

Would you be willing to run the equations and send me the output line so
I can see what kind of line we get? I have a spreadsheet that I am
trying to finish that is all of the stuff in the Yamamoto book that I was
going to give to everyone so they could look/play with different numbers
with that I can check everything against to see if the curve is the
curve or a best fit spline through a finite set of points. If it checks
out that the eqaution tool works right then we could have you export the
stock Mazda geometry as a parasolid so I can open it in 2007 solidworks.
The point of all of this is I am doing a design study to see if I can
make a rotor out of some sort of steel and make a lighter rotor due to
higher UTS/YS and higher modulus materials. I have figured that I can
make the center piece and weld/braze two capping plates on each
side.Steve's brazed sheet metal housings gave me the idea.
