Vettel yes, puling away, but not the Toyotas. Dave DeSpain
interviewed Bob Varsha one of the F1 commentators. Varsha cor-rob-
orated what happened with the rain.

I have it on Video. I can upload it to youtube. The video does not
lie and it always remembers :) You can see Timo slow down and pull
over
to let Lewis by. You can also see it was perfectly dry in that
area. Timo was on the harder tires and Lewis was on the option but
there was not enough rain for the option to dominate. However
Vettel passed Lewis, both on the options, so Lewis was not as
quick as he usually is. Massa and Ferrari thought they had won the
drivers championship.

World Motorsport Symposium in Oxford UK Nov 21st.
They are trying to fit me in. If I get a speaking slot I'll talk
on suspension mounted wings and turbo compound. My 1968 AIAA tech
paper is scheduled to be re-printed in the next issue of Bernoulli
mag due here in the U.S. any day now.

I've got the race on tape. Both Toyotas were on dry tires. Vettel
and Hamilton changed to intermediates. Vettel was faster than
Hamilton on the same tires at the end of the race. There was plenty
of rain during the last two laps. The Toyotas were losing 30-40 sec
to the cars on rain tires. They admitted this. What does Toyota gain
from letting Williams win instead of Ferrari? Why give up any
positions if you don't have to? Massa would have been a worthy
champion as well. Where's the conspiracy?

On Audio tape? William's win? Willam's was never in a position to win.
Vettel was driving for Scuderia Toro Roso. Timo was was driving for
Toyota.
Felipe won driving for Ferrari. Alfonso finished second for Renault
Kimi finished fourth for Ferrari. Williams was no where.
Formula 1 is a lot of politics. Kimi moved over to let Felipe win
a race or so ago. Alfonsa was pissed at Maclaren and said he would
help Felipe
win over Lewis. I think Timo was angling for a ride with Maclaren so
he helped
Lewis come in fifth where he needed to be to win the drivers
championship. Lewis
would have lost it to Felipe if he had come in sixth. Toyota gains
nothing.
Its all in the video. You can see how dry it was.

Just watch Glock tip toeing around that last turn and slipping badly.
He had zero traction. The track was very wet. You could see it more
easily from the driver's perspective than from the track cameras.
Team mates do help each other. It happened this year both with
Ferrari and McLaren. But Glock is not going to McLaren and Toyota
would have gained a higher finish from Glock.

Summary: From 10th on the grid he moved up a place on the first lap.
Fuelled heavily, he made an early stop just for dry tyres on lap
eight. He made up further ground, passing Giancarlo Fisichella for
sixth soon after. Showed consistently good pace before making his only
fuel stop on lap 36. When the late shower came he stayed out on dry
tyres and held fourth but struggled for grip and lost two spots on the
last lap.
Race Classification: 6th (+44.368s)
Qualifying Classification: 10th Lap Time: 1m 14.230s (+1.862s in Q3)
Grid: 10th
"I was on dry tyres at the end of the race when it was raining quite
badly and it was just impossible on the last lap. I was fighting as
hard as I could but it was so difficult to just keep the car on the
track and I lost positions right at the end of the lap.

No doubt parts were wet. Timo's lap time for the previous lap was 20 seconds
quicker than his last lap.
Here are two more pictures showing him on the wet line in one case and the over
all of both of them. This is not going away.

"I'm just wondering how much money Timo had on Lewis to be world champion, an
online reader of the International Herald Tribune newspaper commented after the
decisive Brazilian Grand Prix.
Had Toyota's Timo Glock not posted a lap time 20 seconds slower than his
previous tour of the Interlagos circuit and ceded a place to the Briton, Lewis
Hamilton would not have clinched the world championship.
"I am not sure if Glock was trying to do Hamilton a favour or not," said
commentator and 1982 world champion Keke Rosberg.
The 'favour' theory is unlikely, given the fact that Hamilton and Glock,
following a run-in or two this season, are hardly the best of friends.
"I definitely did not give the place to him (deliberately)," Glock told reporters.
Precisely why Glock had not changed to wet tyres in the late rain shower was not
explained, but the German apparently revealed after the race that he had made
the request to his pitwall.
"Who would have thought that Glock would have stayed out on dry tyres? It's all
a bit technical, but there doesn't seem like anything dodgy or untoward," said
McLaren boss Ron Dennis.
Team CEO Martin Whitmarsh insisted the team was confident Glock would be
overhauled on the decisive lap, but Mercedes' Norbert Haug admits his heart sank
when Sebastian Vettel stole the necessary fifth place from Hamilton.
Asked what had gone through his head, the German answered: "A (German swear)
word that begins with S-C-H and ends with E!"
Glock said he felt bad for Felipe Massa, whose crew in the Ferrari garage
celebrated the title for a few seconds before it became clear that the Toyota
had dropped behind Hamilton.
In an interview with ITV, Hamilton laughed when he was asked what he will say to
Glock when he sees him next.
"Well, I don't think I ... he did a great job. Thank God he didn't get in my way
or we didn't collide. So a big thank you to him for staying out of the way," the
McLaren driver said.
