This folded core arrangement is very similar to the HEPA filter
applications we use in industrial air cleaning applications over here.
As such the filter needs to sit totally enclosed within in an rectangular
duct.  I believe the inlet duct can be extremely short, perhaps several
inches but the exit needs to encompass at least the heat exchanger unit
and the longer the better perhaps dividing to both sides of the engine.

In this case the entire cowl with the engine inside it is the exit duct.

Doug,
I have, for some time now, been considering a radiator pod  made up of a
number of smaller radiators into a circular radiator with a cone in the
centre to enable the taper inlet. A kind of round concept of what Paul is
doing with his radiator block (or block of radiators).

I originally tried to think of how to manufacture a round radiator, but
can't think of how it could be done.

Now this type of radiator might not be suitable for many installations but
it could be useful for an external Pod installation- where installations
internally aren't feasible.
