*Longer term
*-- The FIA and the Formula One Teams Association (FOTA) will study the
possibility of an entirely new power train for 2013 based on energy
efficiency (obtaining more work from less energy consumed).
-- Rules will be framed to ensure that research and development of such
a power train would make a real contribution to energy-efficient road
transport.

That is the good part. But no refueling?
Marc Joseph
Hello !
Next year, 2009, there will be no F1 Grand Prix in my country (France),
and it is very likely that there will be non the following years...
(And looking at the evolution of F1 rules, I cannot figure out if it's
good or a bad news...)
More race per engine could perhaps lead to little less powerful, but
also technical developments of more reliable engine... for everybody.
But I don't understand the interest of the "No refueling" :
Wouldn't be more sensible to reduce the authorized fuel amount for one
race, to specify this quantity as a mass - not a volume - to avoid
nonsense but expensive refrigeration systems - to about 90 kg (200lbs),
or even less, and let the maximum possible freedom to engineers ?
Philippe
They are thinking about turbo compound for 2013 but I don't know why
they are waiting that long.
