High friend.   I believe in the Wankel Rotary engine - to  replace most
    pistons -
and hope you know of the Moller/Freedom/Rotopower engine in  Davis, Calif..
The developed, efficient rotary, should be used much more  extensively.
Why isn't Mazda in the forefront of engineering with larger  engines,
    running
on non petrol fuels, for the truckinhg industry ?
I'm still trying to find the big, white, 1960 Scott-Atwater  300 HP Rotary
outboard motor for some special pictures.  I hear it's in  Calif..
Looking forward to your Rotary newsletter.

I hear Ford is holding them back.

Ford just sold half their interest in Mazda. They now own only 13%

Paul, has that been covered? as to why they have not replaced more
standard engines.. I personally was just wondering..  as I think it
will do my application just fine with the best weight/value and long
life as possible. (aviation)

But once in a awhile folks come on thinking this is going to take
over the world in motors.. haven't come close in how many years? and
why would they now? I was just curious if the subject as to why not,
has been covered?

The fact of the matter is there is not enough advantage on
balance to justify scraping trillions of dollars of piston engine
infrastructure. Perhaps in the future when the Wankel turbo compound
is developed and the engine power to weight ratio becomes more
important as cars become lighter in weight.
So far Mazda has not designed a front wheel drive rotary powered car
where the size and weight of the engine becomes more important.
Front drive cars are cheaper to make and available interior volume
utilization is better.
