Subject: Korean Wankel engine

Attached are a couple of files that appear to indicate progress with a
direct injected multifuel approach.

The first is of most interest, because if the Wankel SuperTEC KMM502 and
KMM503 make it to production, they may instantly become a very cost
effective source of an engine.  More and more photos of this design
appear to be emerging on the WWW.

The second file was captured from a Russian web page. Of interest to me
is the information about ceramic coatings.

Just wanted to share this with our "Rotary" community.

Do you have a link for that Korean pdf John? Too big at 2.7 meg to publish
on here.

We have had bad luck with ceramic coatings coming off and
destroying the rotor housings.

Also those engines appear to be charged cooled like the Rotamax.
I don't know how many charged cooled engines people need to make
before they figure it out that charge cooling is not the best way to
design a Wankel engine. I predict this company will turn out
to be a loser. Charge cooling is giving the Wankel rotary engine
a bad name.

-------------------------------------------

I watched all the videos on the web site
http://www.lmlkorea.com/ and it may not be charged
cooled. It has plain journal bearings. That implies an oil
cooled rotor like the Mazda. If they make it.... it
might be a dream come true. It has a unique combustion chamber shape
and direct injection. Who knows? They might pull
it off.
