I know of two RVs that are rotary powered and have broken powersport
redives. More hours than the dumb planetary but still gone. Cross
country takes them all out.

Many people have flown many hours cross country in Ford C6 based
planetaries. Some have over 1000 hours.

Some have failed yes but it was traced to incorrect machining.
Early Ross versions did not have sun gear thrust bearings but that
was corrected years ago in Ross and Tracy Crook designs.
