Well as long as you start with 50 million dollars building
your own Wankel should be no problem. You know what they say
about aviation. "If you want to make a small fortune start with a
large one" :)
Paul Lamar
Oh yes, that is one very famous quote in auto racing. My personal
favorite is "I know there's money in racing, I put it there." Back to
the subject, $50 million we do not have, and if we did, that large sum
would be going into certification. Granted, we may be fools for putting
so much time and money into a project with such a poor history, however,
we are still willing to go forward with our plans of making an aviation
rotary engine despite the great opposition involved with such an undertaking.
I am not here to start an argument about what we can or cannot do,
merely collecting advice and opinions of other aviators to help
increase our chances of success.
Vladimir
You will forgive us because we have seen it all before.
Keep quiet and produce the goods.
Just hang in here awhile and you will learn all you need to know.
Paul Lamar
Thanks for the encouraging words. Good to see a slightly less stern
side to you Mr. Lamar. In any case, count on me to act as sponge for
as long as you allow me to remain part of the news letter.
Vladimir
A bit of advice.. Don't even think about charge cooling :)
Paul Lamar
By charge cooling, I take it you mean cooling the rotor internals
with the incoming air for combustion or am I mistaken?
Vladimir
That is correct. The one thing all the companies that failed
tried to do.
