Hope all is well.  My brother is building a hovercraft and I suggested
the rotary as hovercraft need to be as lite as possible.  What are your feelings on this ?

Apparently there are at least three more Rotary powered hovercrafts:

1.: Mario Häberer had a huge picture on the Wankel AG display in Friedrichshafen;

2.: In the Norton Rotary book of Chris Perkins is a complete chapter
on Norton Rotary powered hovercraft;

3.: My ex-MWE-colleague David Elston was racing a
Formula 3 hovercraft with a standard MWE single rotor engine in the late 1990es.
