Jeremy,

It all depends on what stage of building you are. If you need it today (not
tomorrow) do what ever is available at your price point and desire. If you
need  it tomorrow, or next week, or year, dream, plan, but postpone any
purchase  until  you are there.

The technology is changing so rapidly that what you plan for, and many
times buy, today will be either obsolete or replaced by a better, less costly
unit tomorrow.(especially with glass panels.

Anybody out there who purchased a loran unit only to basically scrap it and
replace it with a GPS before installing it, and then finding out when you
do  install it, you could have gotten a far more sophisticated unit for the
same $  had you but waited until you needed it? (comon fess up!!)

Postpone avionics and engines as long as possible. If you are just
remodeling the panel of a flying aircraft,----- as RosannaDanna says--- Never
mind!!!
