Paul--r.e. your notes about Holley carb rotary for the Mazda...after first
series of flight tests of the original SuperLight engine using our home
grown Hillborn-type mechanical fuel injection, we removed the fuel injection
and installed a Holley and conducted flight tests with it in late 1989.  The
RV-4 was in this configuration.  When I get some time, will try to find the
flight test data and installation photos. It made less power than with our
mechanical fuel injection.  There were also were other factors why we went
back to mechanical fuel injection--among them carb ice, etc.


Could not
remember if I previously forwarded this photo to you for your rotary
aircraft file or not--if not, here is a quickie scan for your file, taken in
back of the hangar.  Can remove from frame for better scan if need be. If
you need file photographs of the first RV-3 for your file, can get those to
you as well.  If so, will see if I can get them in digital form from the EAA
and/or Jack Cox.  Jack took some for articles in Sport Aviation and
Sportsman Pilot.

A lot depends on the manifold. We are seeing 250 HP
with a p-port, long runners and a Weber at only 7500 RPM.
