I have been looking through my files today with no luck to try and find
the coolant flow schematic
on the 13B so I can determine what modifications need to be done to
introduce the coolant into the intermediate housing and have it move
fore and aft and over to the hot side.
Probably not worth the trouble but I would at least like to do look at
the way Le mans 26B was set up.

I don't think it would necessarily be hard to do, but you'd
want the engine apart to do it. And It would probably involve
a remote water pump. Is it worth doing, would be the question.

Yes I have a remote pump. Three actually:) One Paul's design casting
which is for sale BTW, and two pricey Steward Component enhanced BMW
replacement pumps. Three days ago I cut off the water pump AL.
housing from a BMW engine lower timing case cover. Now I am on to
designing the flat mounting plate for the whole assembly. The design
depends on where the pump will be mounted. A good location looking at
the front housing, is the south east corner. Same location Paul
identified for his design. In Paul's modified Mazda unit, water enters
from the rear and exits on a tangent. In the BMW flow water enters on
the tangent and exits the rear or with some small modification on the
tangent as well. The big difference besides price is in the design and
materials. The Stewart Component impeller unlike the BMW original is
made from SUS 316, and the whole package is similar to submerged well
pumps. This equates to high pressure, and high flows in a compact
cylindrical package.
Yes the Lemans central outwards coolant flow would probably not be worth
the time and trouble to develop. Looking at how Mazda did it would tell
us a few things about water flow balance however.
Actually my specific interest at the moment is the how the water flows
through the front housing of the 13B. Simply stated does the housing act
like a pressurize water reservoir or is flow divided and channeled from
the area around the inlet? If the former then as an option I can inject
the cool water from the pump into the freeze plug hole and cap the upper
inlet. If the latter than I have to run a hose up to the present inlet.
It is an exercise in optimizing flow.
The easiest route, using the present engine inlet may turn out to be the
path of least resistance for water as well as design.
