Subject: Berry Mount failure

 Jerry,
After 25 hours of ground runs my Barry Mounts failed. I think I need
stiffer mounts. Can you tell me which ones to order?  This is not a
heat issue. But the mounts are in slight compression with the engine
in an almost zero degree up / down thrust line. I actually have
about 1 degree of up thrust to take some of the compression off the
Barry mounts. I was hoping for first flight this weekend.
Thanks,
  Bobby

Paul,  I can refer Bobby to stiffer Barry Mounts but maybe this is
something you would like to consider from an engineering point of view.

Bobby,  Your Barry Mounts are 22002-12.  They have an axial load rating
of 175 lbs. There are four stiffer versions:
22002-13 axial load 240 lbs
22002-14 axial load  380 lbs
22002-15 axial load 630 lbs

There are other Barry Mounts but they will not fit your installation.
 Only order the ones above.

Order from AEK Technology
818-686-1445
Greg or Ken Holz owners.  Talk to one of them.

Was this an RV10 mount with a supercharged 13B?
What part of the mount failed Bobby? Got any pictures?
Jerry, if Bobby is not on here can you forward this question?
Mark Steitle, would you take a picture for me if Bobby does not
have a digital camera?
