I WONDERING IF SOMEONE TRY THE SAME SYSTEM AS FUEL INJECTION WITH
SERVO,SPYDER AND MECHANICAL INJECTORS,IT SEEMS SO SIMPLE TO COMPARE
WITH THE ELECTRONIC FUEL SYSTEM.
I ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE CONVERT THE 2005 GENESIS

Yes it is. Steve Beckham on here did a lot of work with mechanical fuel
injection.
The Mazda rotary engine road racers used it for years.

Jean--Don Rivera at Airflow Performance is the guy you need to contact.
He
supplies a complete fuel injection system for rotary aircraft engines.
We
dyno and flight tested his stuff for over 10 years on various rotary
aircraft engines and it worked perfectly. Don worked at Bendix and his
mechanical fuel injection system for aircraft engines is very similar.
Don's
system works as well as, if not better than the original system. Don
also
services certified aircraft Bendix-based systems which are still
supplied
on
new Lycomings, and offers all kinds of services to experimental aircraft
builders including components and full systems. His units are also sold
by
Van's Aircraft. The system we developed for rotary aircraft engines in
the
late 80's and early 90's used Don's components. He has done rotary
projects
with Jim M @ Racing Beat as well. Sean Tucker and all the top airshow
and
aerobatic competitors use Don's injection systems. Great guy, great
family
owned and operated company with great service and products.

That's pretty steep pricing, indeed. Is it cheaper than the Lycoming
setup? The rotary only needs half the nozzles and spider outlets.
Then again, I guess it's probably a fuel pump setup that's not common
to anyone else - the LyCont FI setups being accessory case driven..
The Holley with the leaning block looks better and better. I'm not
_that_ interested in sustained inverted flight. For naturally
aspirated, I think the Holley will be tough to beat. Parts available
world-wide, any mechanic can figure out how it works, cheap rebuilds,
known tuneability.
I think the only way FI makes sense on the rotary is for forced
induction or for aerobatics (which opens a whole other set of
challenges (oil management)). FI makes more sense on a regular
multi-cylinder piston engine because it offers relatively easy
balancing of fuel flows between the cylinders. On a two rotor engine,
it should be relatively easy to get good fuel (and air) distribution
given that there are only two induction paths.
