When the two waves one in the front rotor intake and
one in the rear rotor intake line up you get max power.
Lets call them wave one in rotor 1 and wave two in rotor 2.
The waves travel near the speed of sound  1100 feet per second.
So in 1 MS it travels 1.1 foot or about 13 inches. Give or take
depending on the temperature.
A wave peak passes a point at 13 inches per milli second roughly.
Lets number the wave peaks one two three etc. etc.
So wave one peak one is at the rotor housing port while
wave two peak two arrives. That is max power.

Note that is almost the case at 6,600 RPM but not near
that at 4,285 RPM.

Does this clear things up ???

What is interesting is the position of the rotors seen in
these diagrams. The p-port never closes. When one face of the
rotor closes the p-port the next face is opening the P-port.

If you look at it strictly from a absolute pressure point of view there
is a position of the rotor where the absolute pressure is the
lowest and that is what generates the wave in the intake tube.
Don't forget the other end of the tube is at atmospheric pressure
so air starts to flow into the tube.

It appears this lowest pressure occurs around top dead center for rotor two.
Max pressure in the same chamber occurs somewhere between
90 and 180 degrees after top dead center just before the p-port
closes for that chamber.

These graphics are a powerful illustration of that fact but I really
need an animation of this. This is a fascinating engine to say the
least.

Apparently the only thing that matters is that you get one complete
wave cycle from both intakes in one rotation of the e-shaft. The phase
between waves appears to matter little.

Mark, next time you take data please jack up the sample frequency to 2000 samples
per second. Our RPM resolution is too low. It goes from 6000 RPM to
6600 RPM in one jump. We need 6000, 6300, 6600 and 6900.
