 It appears to be focused on combustion stability at idle
 and light load. I see no reference to operation at our power levels.
 Apparently with a long skinny combustion chambers and dual spark plugs
 set at a specific distance apart the combustion stability is increased.
 Probably the drop in BSFC is limited to a single digit improvement for
 car power
 levels. 5% is implied. Certainly not in the double digit turbo
 compound category.
 God knows how much R&D money they spent on this.  The geometry is similar
 to the Super-Tec engine with the notable exception of the side exhaust
 port.

 No mention is made of lean operation. Lean operation would pay off
 big time if a way could be found to reduce NOX.

 Yes there is and so far Mazda has not taken advantage of that fact.
 They keep talking about 14.7 to one.

IIRC, Honda had a low-temp NOx catalytic for diesels.  Not sure how well
it would work with rotaries.

What do you mean Honda *HAD* a diesel? 2009 is the 1st year Honda has
manufactured a commercially available diesel engine. Commercially available
in this case only implies to Europe and Asia thanks to US EPA standards.
