I suggest you wait until Mazda sells it's aluminum EPA
 testing engines. it
shouldn't be long
now. who was that guy that was selling the RX8 engines
 maybe he can score
these engines
when they become available.

Where did you read this? The 16B engines are no lighter
 than the current
iron engines as they are 3.2 liters instead of 2.6.

 Mazda has put this out that the 16x is lighter than the rx8
 engine and more
 fuel efficient while being bigger in displacement they didn't
 mention buy
 how much.

I,wounder if mistral could be talked into doing a 16x engine swap with the
diamond twin star.
would make a hell of a technology demonstrator and a good test bed for a
turbocompound installation.how fast would it go and how far sans
turbocompound.

Not likely. It takes years and tons of money to certify an engine. They are not going
to stop what they are doing and start over.

The 16X is not necessarily a good aircraft engine. Mazda's focus is the
0 to 100 HP power range with better torque for car use.
