The world's astrophysicists are aware (and have been since the
late 70's) that the earth's magnetism, and its corresponding
ozone layer, which protect us from cosmic radiation and the
sun's "gamma ray bursts" in the 1000 radial miles of the south
Atlantic region off the Brazilian coastline is weakening (almost
to the point of non-existence at times) and is also widening.
The fear is also, that it will soon widen and begin taking in
their coastline. These 'bursts' are random, but are powerful
enough to destroy, or at the least cause the complete malfunction
and failure of anything electronic (motors, servos and signals)
sent by or to these items. I'm wondering if the plane happened
to be flying in that area when a possible burst occurred,
shorting out the jet's complete electronics.

I just had a long talk with an engineer that designs satellite sensors
that monitor surface temperatures, cloud coverage, atmospheric gases
and cloud thickness among several other things for the purposes of
monitoring Global Warming (Name now changed to "Climate Change" for
political reasons. Nobody would believe Global Warming if we had one
exceptional cold winter.) and weather prediction.  He pointed out we are
unable to predict the weather accurately one week ahead so why would
anybody expect our predictions on anything else having to do with
the future earth condition be accurate for years to come. He has
been doing this for 20 years. The current sensors are at least
30 years old and may now be inaccurate.

The fact of the matter is the computer climate models are seriously
flawed despite the use of the most powerful computers available being
on the job. Garbage in garbage out.

Another factor is new evidence is being uncovered all the time
that suggest former predictions are incorrect.

When somebody starts advocating a dooms day scenario be skeptical
and search for their motivations. Don't just repeat what you hear,
read or what you see in a movie. By all means don't vote on the basis
of that information. Examine the evidence carefully and repeat all
the experiments (if any)if possible. Educate yourself as much as possible
on the subject. Al Gore had 3 million dollars eight years ago and
he is now worth 83 million. IMHO he will go down in history as the
most successful scam artist of all time. Right up there with
Bernie Madoff and Karl Heinrich Marx :)
