I was talking to Richard HEDGE, Assembly & Test Cell Manager,
for Mistral Engines, while at Oshkosh.

He told me that they will be making mufflers out of Inconel
as they felt 321 stainless was not heat resistant enough.
They had to purchase a full sheet of perforated Inconel.

Knowing that individuals could not afford to do that; around
the first of the year he expected that they would sell them
to the homebuilt market.   He felt that the price would be

Yes. Richard is now on here.
That is good news. They should sell a lot of stuff to the
homebuilt market. That would speed the acceptance for the rotary
and gain credibility for the certified version. My offer of free
support still stands

Y'all allowed me to purchase your intake and it gives me great piece of
mind having it.  I would love to have y'all provide more.  Yes, I am
only a small part of a market, but, I am not the only one here.

IMAO, (in my arrogant opinion <g), you are not gonna be having folks
beating down the door with the current pricing, however, proven, solid
products in flying planes, even kit planes, could sure go a long way for
marketing a good idea.  Heck, it is happening now anyway...just without
ya.  Pity.

I would rather give my money to you than some local yahoo who does not
really "get it".  In the long run, it could be a savings to the
individual builder in time, energy, misspent attempts at
direction/fabrication and money.

You are smart people, I am guessen' you have considered this, but it
sure does not seem to be something that would hurt.  You are already
bucking the norm....thus, it seems, you could continue to do so and
embrace the experimental market.  After all, experimental is the future
of GA. I am building a Velocity, but it is my understanding that Vans is
putting out (first flights) about 11 planes a week....can Cessna or
Piper say the same. I think not. Geesh, if you could capture this
market, you could surly convince the certified market.
Nothing succeeds
like success.....but, to quote Dennis Miller....I could be wrong.
