Back to the power train  design of Jean's dream canard.

Once you start talking about large diameter carbon fiber
prop shafts one needs to start thinking about prop shaft
bearings. A 3.5 inch diameter prop shaft is out near the
speed limit of needle roller bearings. The only anti friction
type of  bearing near light weight enough. Old Lou Ross RIP figured
that out a long time ago.  Here is what I came up with.
We will need to split one of these bearing so we can install
the prop shaft. I will do a 3D. This is the first of several
detail designs we need to think about before we can come up
with an overall power train design.
