I actually worked on this instrument and it's launch on the EOS Aqua
satellite in 2002. This bird has been taking data of the earth's
temperature that has not been agreeing with the folks doing the global
climate modeling, (we have been cooling on a net global scale since it
launched). Surprising one does not seem to hear that in the
news...... Religion apparently can take many forms.

They did change the name from Global Warming to Climate Change to avoid

I cut one of the animations down to one year. Mainly Mar 2007 to
Mar 2008. The last year NASA published complete data.
My curiosity was highly aroused by the seasonal variation of CO2.
Why does CO2 peak in the spring in the high arctic where there
are no power plants or cars to speak of and then go to a minimum
six months later. Could all the dozens of volcanoes in Alaska have something
to do with it? Could the apparent latitude of the sun have something
to do with the optic sensor accuracy? Could it be the sensors are aging
long term? What was the calibration schedule for the Mauna Loa sensor?
I assume it was frequent but I could be wrong. Does dust in the
atmosphere have anything to do with optic sensor accuracy?
This data has opened a up a pandora's box of questions.
Seems to me we need to study this further and take a lot more surface
CO2 data to understand this better before we draw any conclusions.
