The engines used by the Israelis were originally supplied by UAV
Engines (uavengines.co.uk) and may still be supplied.These were
derived from the Norton rotary and are air cooled whereas Mid-West
developed the water cooled version . Mid -West was sold to Germany
then to Austro (?) who made the single rotary for gliders about 500+ made.
UAV will not consider selling engines for manned aircraft use
probably due to product liability etc.

Their factory was blockaded about a year ago by protesters because
they were supplying engines to the Israelis who were using the UAVs over Gaza.
