From reading the "reply" from Mr. Haas, it is apparent
that he was not
a subscriber to the news letter. I wonder what the
motivation was
of the subscriber who felt compelled to forward the
critique to him and stir
his pot?
Nothing positive can be derived from this, only angst. This
is similar
to the co-worker who has to repeat things people say about
each other
in private conversations, just to watch the reality show
drama.

Perhaps he will examine the structural improvements
necessary to make
it a safe airplane. As I mentioned there is nothing wrong
with running
a racing V8 at 100 HP as long as one understands the
implications of the
low power to weight ratio. I always thought it would be a
good idea
to put a truck diesel in a duster moved aft and use it as a
banner tow
airplane.
The duster could handle the 2000 pound diesel engine weight
no problem.

How would you know? How many motor mounts have you analyzed.

It is not my smell test. Ask an competent structural engineer
about leaving out diagonals in  space frames as you did.
One of the very first things taught in structural engineering
is the importance of diagonal members in space frames.

Instead of attempting to marginalize and ridiculing  me try educating yourself.

Contact a college professor teaching structural engineering
and ask for his help. Get a copy of this book.

Mr. Haas, you miss the point I was making completely. It has nothing
to with your mount or how it is contructed. It is the petty human behavior
of certain people who feel compelled to ignite controversy through gossip.
He said, she said, personality cults, and the result is never a meeting of
the minds, only conflict and unhappy people. This is the stuff that we all
should have left behind in high school. Please, someone present something
positive from this exchange?
I see 2 egos pitted against each other, anger, defenseivness and clearly,
Mr. Hass, you heel injured in some way, or you wouldn't have gone to the
effort to open an attack on Mr. Lamar in another forum.
Paul's news letter is a subscription only medium. there is no archive other
than what you receive from the day you subscribe. Any dicsussion is privy
only to those subscribing at that moment. What you have done is to place a
permanent document out in public forever.
I don't want to know what other people have to say about me when I'm not
there. I could care less, and would prefer it that way. No conflict can
result from it. Life is so short, and I have come to a personal conclusion
that less conflict means more fun, and a richer existance. Negative energy
expended in retaialtion for transgressions of others, whether real or
percieved, means that precious time spent in unproductive negative emotion
is time lost forever.
If someone seriously wants to discuss with me any differences they mey have,
then if it important enough, they will take the time to come to me, not
through some proxy sychophant gossip. When the s**tstirs come to me and
try to rattle my box with he said, she said, I have learned to laugh in
their face, and tell them how funny they are, and how bored they must be,
that they have nothing better to do than to somehow insert themselves into
my personal affairs.
Life is short Mr. Haas, learn to focus on positive things.
