A while back I saw some advice on how to remove tape glue residue from
 a canopy... For the life of me I can't find the posting.  I was thinking
 WD40 would work but wanted to check with the group and get some advice
 on what works best.

A mixture of 3% or 5% denatured alcohol in paint thinner is a powerful
solvent for the adhesives used on tapes and labels and is harmless to most
plastics. It is sometimes used as a rubber cement thinner. Most rubber
cement thinners sold today are quite different and may attack plastics. Try
this on a scrap. Note there is some water in denatured alcohol and some
water will separate out on mixing with paint thinner.
Means nothing.

I used WD40 on my canopy and it worked just fine. And the glue had been on
there for two years. I used the softest cotton cloth I could find.
