Prop shaft mounting drawings.

Jean

Hi Jean,
Are you still going to use a hyd prop? If so, where is the governor drive
and how do you supply and return the oil? You need a sleeve on the opposite
side of the 3-1 gearset to supply the oil and return with hook type piston
ring seals. How will you account for thermal expansion differences between
the SS tube and the carbon tube? The hub bearing could probably be supplied
by a 1/4 inch tube external supply and then a 1/2 inch return connected to
ports between both seals and the bearings if you use an electric prop. If
still using the hyd prop, how much oil flow do you need which will give the
tubing size needed.

Dale Davies

Hi Dale

the prop gouvernor will be intalled on the outer face of gear box between
the prop shaft and beside prop shaft spline end who connect to the spool.

the governor will be driven by a gear on the spool shaft.

The prop governor will feed the oil pressure true a line connected to the main bearings
.The main bearing will be lubricated true a line from engine pump true gear box.

With regular prop the prop the crankshaft will cap be with a plug and
the middle line will be use as the return line
.Regardfing the return line size it will be determine later at final
design configuration,

What you receive is only a preliminary design but i still lot of work
and scale design to be done on my return to Florida.

Regarding the other end of return line ss tubing will be sit free on
reverse oil seal so it will be free for thermal expansion.

When using prop governor the return line s.s.have to be plugged
same as lycoming engine
